Following our acceptance for benchmarking against the Consumer Goods Forum’s Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative, our Global Standard for Ethical Trade & Responsible Sourcing is now formally “in process”. You may remember that SSCI benchmarking works in the same way for social compliance certification programmes as GFSI does for food safety.
Over the course of the next year, we will be working with our SSCI benchmarking assessor to achieve recognition against the benchmark which we are hoping will be in place by September 2021.
A big part of recognition will relate to the accreditation of our Delivery Partners to ISO/IEC 17021-1 and we are working to put in place a pilot to achieve this objective.
Both SSCI Benchmarking and the accreditation of our Certification Bodies will ensure that Issue 2 of the Standard – due for publication in early November 2020 - will have the same robust compliance management as all our Product Safety Standards, which have gained the reputation for being the best in class. We hope that in time, the Global Standard for Ethical Trade & Responsible Sourcing will have a similar standing in the marketplace. If you are interested in certification, complete the form below and we will be in touch.
